MONGOLIA CELEBRATED #IDUS 2019



Ulaanbaatar – Every year since 2016 Mongolia began to celebrate the “International Day of University Sport” on September 20. In celebration of this day, there is a tradition of organizing various events at universities, such as sports competitions, meetings and scientific conferences.

In order to spread the idea of international university sports and promote their activities among students and youth, in this 2019, NUSF Mongolia in collaboration with Mongolian National Institute of Physical Education (MNIPE) and Mongolian university of Life science, organized a “Universiade lesson” and a meeting of university sports on 20th September.

In the morning, with the participation of 400 university students and teachers “Universiade Lesson” was presented by Mrs. Erdenetuya Ch., Executive Director and Mrs. Gundegmaa L., member of the Executive Committee (EC) of Mongolian Student Sports Federation (MSSF) and Mr. Batsaikhan Kh., EC member of MSSF, member of Education Committee of FISU while they covered several topics about activities of NUSF Mongolia and FISU, general information of the Universiade, and participation of Mongolian Team in the Napoli Universiade-2019, and also answered the students' questions of interest.

After the lesson, the attendees watched gifted students from the “Light Power” club of the MNIPE presented a basketball extreme show.

The guest of honor of MSSF held a “Quiz Competition” for testing students' theoretical knowledge about Universiade and winners’ team was awarded by “University sport, Universiade” book.

As part of the celebration of IDUS 2019, a local member of MSSF in Bayan-Ulgii province will host the traditional Western Regional Universiade from September 26 to September 30 in 6 sports events which is enrolled by nearly 400 students from 10 local universities of Russia, China and Kazakhstan.

A feature of this year IDUS day that it is celebrated on the occasion of 30th anniversary of the Mongolian Student Sports Federation besides 70th anniversary of the FISU and 60th anniversary of the Universiade.
