1st Intensive Training Programme for Asian University Sport Leaders


CHEONAN/ONYANG - The 1st Intensive Training Programme for Asian University Sports Leaders was held in Dankook University, Cheonan Campus from 29 December 2015 to 5 January 2016. This was the last event of AUSF in 2015, aiming to provide Asian sport leaders a platform to understand the development of university sports in Asia and exchange ideas on how to promote its development, combining academic sessions with cultural educational and sporting activities. Nearly 40 participants from 11 countries and regions, like Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong China, Iran, Macao China, Malaysia, Mongolia, Philippines, Singapore, Chinese Taipei and Korea, attended the 8-hour a day, 8-day long training programme, which was very intensive.


During the 8-day programme, experienced sports leaders and university professors from different parts of Asia gave lectures on topic from “AUSF Regulations”, “Professional Competence of Administrative”, “Ethnics in Sport Management”, “Injury and Rehabilitation in Sport” to the topic of “Mental Control”. Meanwhile, the participants also had the chance to learn about Korean culture via the visit to the Korean national team training facility, a trip to Seoul city and skiing in Jinan Forest Resort. During the programme, the participants also participated in the Asian University Sports Forum in Onyang on 29 December. One keynote speech and three presentations were delivered under the theme "Shapes of the Development of Asia Collegiate Sport and its Future Challenges". The forum ended with a panel discussion.
